* Bug 1150 - Fix GLContextImpl.createImpl(..) NoARBCreateContext and '!ARB GL ↵Sven Gothel2015-03-261-27/+38
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | >= 3.1' issues This fix solves the described issues below. Test cases added for onscreen and offscreen drawables, the latter includes Window's bitmap special case. GLContextImpl.createImpl(..): Fix NoARBCreateContext and '!ARB GL >= 3.1' issues: ================================================================================= GLContextImpl.createImpl(..) implementation of X11GLXContext and WindowsWGLContext wrongly handles the case of NoARBCreateContext. Here the !ARB created context shall allow GL >= 3.1, since ARB context creation is disabled and 'no mix' can occur. The latter was already intended due to failure criteris 'createContextARBTried' in: if( glCaps.getGLProfile().isGL3() && createContextARBTried ) { failure("createImpl ctx !ARB but ARB is used, profile > GL2 requested"); } Further, WindowsWGLContext treats glCaps.isBitmap() within the 'createContextARBTried=true' case, but it shall never tried using the ARB context creation method. This even lead to the issue of creating a 1.1 context, but having the ProcAddressTable being still on the GL > 2 cached table. This is due to 'setGLFunctionAvailability(..)'. Ensure 'setGLFunctionAvailability(..)' is functional ==================================================== Caller shall either throws an exception if method returns false or issues a state reset. In case 'setGLFunctionAvailability(..)' throws an exception itself, the states are no issue.

* Bug 1055 - Access and query shared master GLContext in a deterministic ↵Sven Gothel2014-08-301-16/+23
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | fashion ; Don't use arbitrary shared context as 'master'. GLContext* passes the shared-master to GLContextShareSet, which only creates a sets of shared contexts without differentiating the master context. GLContext*'s shared-slave attempts to lock the realized shared-master's surface at creation. Currently only an arbitrary shared context is selected due to the missing 'master' identity. The arbitrary shared context's surface is locked and its shared context handle used to create the slave context. Lacking of using the user given shared-master can lead to deadlock situations - and locking a 'wrong' surface. +++ The patch: - Allows query the user given shared-master! - Use the user given shared-master for locking and it's context handle for the slave's creation. - The shared-context mapping maps each shared-master to a shared-slave within one shared-context-set, allowing deterministic and individual shared-master queries.
* Bug 1054: GLContext: makeCurrent() needs a null-check of [mutable] ↵Sven Gothel2014-08-301-97/+103
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | drawable; Review null checks and synchronization/locking. 'drawable' field of GLContextImpl is mutable via setGLDrawable(..), which requires high-level locking as documented. The required high-level locking allows us to _not_ add special synchronization to this field (and drawableRead). A simple null-check in makeCurrent() shall be sufficient, plus ensuring mentioned high-level locking is applied. GLContextImpl 'drawable' and 'drawableRead' synchronization: - commit ad79bd072b600a3f2416cc6f0c61e2925000069d check of null drawable is sufficient - Add GLAutoDrawable upstream-lock locking to: - AWT GLCanvas setupPrint/releasePrint - AWT GLJPanel (was missing) Misc: - validate shared-context native-surface locking, throw exception if not successful - pixelDataEvaluated does not need to be synchronized, since it's being called while context is current, locking - GLDrawableHelper.recreateGLDrawable(..): Remove redundant glFinish() call

This has to be removed to properly work w/ Skip 'ARB_create_context'. To remove the risk of inconcistency, i.e. context created via ARB and non-ARB, the 'GLX/WGL profile >= GL3 via non ARB' validation removed in commit e5a55ede324ce500f50991d56491758803063a58 has been brought back and refined. Note: if( glp.isGL3() && createContextARBTried ) { // We shall not allow context creation >= GL3 w/ non ARB methods if ARB is used, // otherwise context of similar profile but different creation method may not be share-able. .. THROW EXCEPTON .. } This limited validation removes the possibility of such having a context of same profile, one created via ARB and one without. Hence also validates the isGL*() change, where the CTX_IS_ARB_CREATED criteria is removed. +++ Note regarding commit 7314b47ae1e42997e9e6974b84709640f0ac2a1b (revert): While analyzing the mapping, it turns out that commit c8b99d197769eaec53c2def562c0ef3fc0e6a9d2 "Don't map compatibility profiles to core profile if the latter are not available (restrict profile aliasing)" is not fully consistent with GLProfile's and GLContext's profile queries, i.e. isGL*(). We may reiterate over this change .. but have it be reverted for now.

| | | | | | | | | Refines commit fbe00e6f5dca8043b40dd96f096fecc9424e0cc3 Instead of querying driver artifacts (vendor, platform, version ..) we simply can autodetect this quirk by trying to get a second egl-display handle when initializing the EGLDrawablFactory's default device: EGL.eglGetDisplay(EGL.EGL_DEFAULT_DISPLAY)
* Bug 948 - NVIDIA 331.38 (Linux X11) EGL impl. only supports _one_ EGL ↵Sven Gothel2014-01-241-12/+42
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Display via eglGetDisplay(..) NVIDIA 331.38 (Linux X11) EGL impl. only supports _one_ EGL Display via eglGetDisplay. - Subsequent eglGetDisplay(..) calls fail. - Using the same 'global' egl-display does work though Remedy: Add 'GLRendererQuirks.SingletonEGLDisplayOnly' Detection of quirk is done as usual in GLContextImpl.setRendererQuirks(..), and EGLDrawableFactory passes the quirk, if detected, down to EGLDisplayUtil. The latter implements the singleton eglDisplay handle. EGLDisplayUtil: Cleaned up .. - EGLDisplayRef employs the reference handling incl. eglInitialize(..) and eglTerminate(), as well as the new singleton quirk. - Mark all internal methods 'private', to remove possible [untested] sideffects.

| | | | | | | | [GLContext|GL].hasFullFBOSupport() == true OpenGL ES 3.0 supports full framebuffer operations, incl. multiple color-attachments and multisample. Hence [GLContext|GL].hasFullFBOSupport() shall returns true w/ a ES 3.0 context.
* Bug 942: GLBufferObjectTracker: Tracking GLBufferStorage accurately, ↵Sven Gothel2014-01-211-9/+9
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | synchronized and secure [1/2] GLBufferSizeTracker becomes GLBufferObjectTracker and tracks the buffer's data store, GLBufferStorage, accurately, synchronized and secure. Synchronization is required, since the GLBufferStorage can be shared across many GLContext on multiple threads. This requires all GLBufferStorage lifecycle affecting GL functions to utilize synchronized GLBufferObjectTracker methods while passing a native GL-func callback. These GL functions are: - glBufferData, glBufferStorage (GL 4.4), glNamedBufferDataEXT Creating the GLBufferStorage object - glMapBuffer, glMapBufferRange, and their *Named*EXT variants - glUnmapBuffer, glUnmapNamedBufferEXT 'glDeleteBuffers' can simply notify the GLBufferObjectTracker No more HashMap is required to associate the mapped buffer address to the mapped ByteBuffer. GLBufferObjectTracker simply utilizes a buffer-name (int) -> GLBufferStorage map. +++ The security aspect shall be implemented by validating all arguments whether they match the required GL constraints, as well as validating tracked states like 'size'. The following functions will throw an GLException accordingly: - glBufferData, glNamedBufferDataEXT * @throws GLException if size is less-than zero * @throws GLException if a native GL-Error occurs - glBufferStorage (GL 4.4) * @throws GLException if size is less-or-eqaul zero * @throws GLException if a native GL-Error occurs - glMapBuffer, and it's *Named*EXT variant * @throws GLException if buffer is not bound to target * @throws GLException if buffer is not tracked * @throws GLException if buffer is already mapped * @throws GLException if buffer has invalid store size, i.e. less-than zero - glMapBufferRange, and it's *Named*EXT variant * @throws GLException if buffer is not bound to target * @throws GLException if buffer is not tracked * @throws GLException if buffer is already mapped * @throws GLException if buffer has invalid store size, i.e. less-than zero * @throws GLException if buffer mapping range does not fit, incl. offset - glMapBufferRange, and it's *Named*EXT variant Only clear mapped buffer reference of GLBufferStorage if native unmap was successful. Further more special error handling shall be applied to: - glMapBuffer, and it's *Named*EXT variant, glMapBuffer, and it's *Named*EXT variant - A zero GLBufferStorage size will avoid a native call and returns null - A null native mapping result indicating an error will not cause a GLException but returns null This allows the user to handle this case.

| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | GLBufferSizeTracker (simplification) Due to future mapped buffer tracking, the GLBufferStateTracker instance shall be shared across shared GLContextImpl instances similar to GLSizeStateTracker!
